Muay Thai is an ancient martial art that originated in Thailand, called ‘the art of 8 limbs’, because fighters use eight parts of their body in combat: elbows, fists, knees and feet. In Thailand, young men learn Muay Thai as a form of self-defence, but often become professional fighters as a way to earn a living.
Also, known as Thai Boxing, the art of Muay Thai in Brisbane is a full contact sport that you can take all the way to competition level, but most people start by simply wanting to get fit and experience something different. Whatever your goals when you start Muay Thai, when you attend our gyms in Brisbane, you will always train in a safe and friendly environment, and will learn how to spar and defend yourself; you can take your training to a competitive level, but that’s your decision.
Depending on your skill level, during your class you will spend time doing strengthening exercises, working on punching bags, using pads with a partner, sparring and doing drills. We will never put you in a ring until we are sure of your ability and it’s something that you want to do!
Why not experience an all over body workout, learn to defend yourself and have some fun by learning Muay Thai training in Brisbane?
